Valentines Day

Valentines Day is seen by many as the consumer holiday to force you to buy a five dollar card to show that special someone how much you love them.  I hope this will change the minds of many of you.  Mrs. Ovitz's Third grade class at Janesville Union School made Valentines for our Warriors.  I have attached three pictures but must say each card is not only individual but also a pop-up card.  I applaud the time, effort, and thought that each student put into their card.  They are truly amazing.  I am excited  and honored to mail these Valentines out and can hardly wait for our Warriors to see what I see.

A Giant Thank You To Mrs. Ovitz's and her Third Graders

Many Thanks and Appreciation

I would like to send out many thanks to Mrs. Rachel Vincent's English classes and Mellisa Ash's Study Hall and their students at Lassen Union High School for writing letters, poems, and drawing pictures.  I also send out my gratitude to Mrs. McKee's students, Mrs. Ovitz, and Mrs. Bricker's and their students for writing letters, drawing pictures, and send Holiday Cheer from Janesville Union School.

All of the correspondence that I collected I made copies of and sent out to four individual address, to soldiers in either Iraq or Afghanistan, and the USO Base in Qatar.  The USO Base is where soldiers go when they get a 4 day pass, have combat stress leave, or are recovering from a minor injury.

I would also like to than Mrs. DeKock for helping with postage, which was especially appreciated since postage went up as of the first of the year.

Thanks to each and every person who helped by participating in some way to get an envelope to a soldier down range.  During the Holidays when people miss home the most, I am sure everything was very appreciated.

December Thanks

I would like to take a moment to thank those special people who helped me, help the soldiers in the month of December.  To the Erwin family and the Strickland's, thank you for your care package donations.  I know they put a smile on more than one soldiers face.

Many Thanks to "Olde Guy" for "Walking before them and understanding their plight, and wanting to help, with no need for recognition."

You might not need recognition "Olde Guy" but you deserve it all the same.

I would also like to send a special thanks to one of my oldest and dearest, friends Kevin.  One good thing about that 3rd deployment.....you inspired all of this.  Thank you for helping me, help your brothers and sisters who sacrifice so much for me and my loved ones.

And to My Staff Sergeant- This project has given many gifts, and getting to become friends with you is one of them.

Thank You All
